More stuff on the MD Shall Issue Ruling
A press release from The Second Amendment Foundation:
A federal court ruling in Maryland, that the Second Amendment right to bear arms extends beyond the home and that citizens may not be required to offer a “good and substantial reason” for obtaining a concealed carry permit, is a huge victory, the Second Amendment Foundation said today.
Ruling here. Joe has a fantastic quote of the day:
A citizen may not be required to offer a ‘good and substantial reason’ why he should be permitted to exercise his rights. The right’s existence is all the reason he needs.
He’s also contributing to the Brady tequila fund.

And like I said at Joe’s, that goes for all of ’em andf not just the RTKABA.

-2 points for MD on the Brady score, dropping them from 7th to 8th between Rhode Island and Illinois.

Quick somebody, drive out to the state line and make sure we’re talking about the same Maryland. The more bloodthirsty verses of “To Anacreon in Heaven” come at once to mind. Because, what do you know, they were written there. Now what rough beast slouches toward Bethesda?

Pretty jazzed right now.

Alternatively, the existence of the right, in nature, in common law, and enumerated in the Constitution is itself a “good and substantial reason”.
So that works for me, too.

You might not want to go outside without an umbrella.
Airborne swine you know.
Now all we need is the Ninth to rule exactly opposite so this will go to SCOTUS.

I met Alan Gottlieb at SHOT years back. Seemed like a great guy and very passionate about the second amendment. His organization is on the front lines of this conflict, and are doing more than any other as far as I can tell to gain real victories. NRA, GOA are good, and we would be a lot worse off without them. But let’s not neglect our financial support of this bulldog group.
