Non-Chicago reps not happy that Chicago reps are pushing gun control.

If not for Chicago, Illinois would have the gun laws of Indiana. In fact, if you put your thumb over Chicago when looking at a map of Illinois you are looking at Indiana.

What Shootin’ Buddy says. Until Ryan, Illinois outside of Cook County had gun laws in perfect accordance with Heller. Under Blagojevic, Illinois passed a statewide law that preempted local ordinances if the otherwise “illegal” firearm was used in self defense or in defense of an innocent third party.

There’s a moral in here, the Democratic Party’s urban/rural divide is ripe for an internal revolution to get rid of their pro-gun-control plank.

And it’s well past time we got the Repubs to remove the “in their homes” and explicitly add lawful carry (without licensed, concealed, or open modifiers attached) to their definition of “2nd Amendment rights.”

This is an election year ploy. Until Democrats stop voting for Mike Madigan for Speaker; don’t buy a word of this BS. They are scared of being thrown out in favor of pro-2nd amendment Repubs.

And as far as Chicago is concerned, removing it would not make us Indiana. We don’t have enough Hoosiers! 😛
