We must do something!
A legislator in Cali wants to ban violent people from sporting events. Ok, then.

Gee, I’m sure the NFL is more than willing to convert to Touch Football to make California Happy.

It will probably be made law then be tossed by the court because it singles out certain kinds of felons not by violence level but by location of the violence…
The guy who punched another dude after too many beers is banned but the guy who killed someone after too many beers is allowed inside the game?

Sounds like double-secret probation to me.
And that means if it becomes law, the only proper response is to do something really, really stupid.

So…do we need pictures of a guy in an SS Uniform saying papieren, bitte outside of sports stadiums?
Either the law will require ID for every visitor to the stadium, or it will require the admittance people to scan faces against several thousand “Have You Seen Me…At The Game?” pics of forbidden people.
In the first case, it’s a hard restriction which looks and feels like intrusive government. In the other case, it’s a sporadically-enforced nuisance law which has no useful effect.

karrde, we CAN’T have everyone showing ID to get into sporting events, that would disenfranchise certain minorities!
