Trigger locks
I’ve always thought them useless and, mostly, throw mine away or use them to lock the odd gate or box around the house. But it turns out, they come in handy at retail establishments:
“The reality is, the guy had a gun and was trying to load it,” Zardeneta said. “If he was trying to steal the guns or if he was trying to shoot people, for us, we need to get there and stop him, no matter what his plan was.”
Zardeneta said Rowlands removed an M-4 rifle from its case in the sporting goods section and attempted to load it. The rifle had a trigger lock on it, according to Command Sergeant Major C.B. Abel, so Rowlands was unable to load it. Zardeneta said a Walmart employee then took the rifle from Rowlands.
Also, seems another instance of ARs at Walmart, a recurring theme.

Good thing he was thick in the head, those trigger locks can usually let the trigger move back enough to shoot once, or are pretty easy to pop off if you know how.

I wonder how he even removed it from the case. Smash the glass? or wasn’t it even locked up…
The cable type locks are great for locking my helmet to the sissy bar of my motorcycle and for locking my tail bag to the bike.

The three different trigger locks I tried could all be taken off an AR simply by swinging open the bottom of the finger guard.

An M4??? Since when was Wally selling fully automatic weapons?
And if even one person there had been armed, the frantic calls wouldn’t have been so frantic in the end.

I’m thinking the “trigger lock” on an AR is configured as one of those cable-type locks with the loop thru the mag well and ejection port. That would explain why he “couldn’t load it”.

But did the clerk butt-stroke the guy in the face afterwards?
I would have paid money to see that…

Actually, the first Bersa I ever saw came from W-M. And the folks that work there have always said they could order just about anything you want. They didn’t start the PC stuff ’till after Sam Wal died.

I’m with NMM1AFan. I’d like to see a test run of nose vs. 6 pos stock.
