Where Great Britain Used To Be:
Surgery bans elderly patient over her carbon footprint
An elderly woman was ordered to find a new GP because the “carbon footprint” of her two-mile round trips to the surgery where she had been treated for 30 years was too large.

Of course, the next nearest GP happens to be 20 miles down the road….

Not knowing the lady in question, it’s hard to say much. I’m suspicious that has, in some way or another, made herself into a world-class pain in the backside at that clinic.
Since a statement that “That pushy old hypochrondiac broad is driving us all crazy” is not an acceptable reason for getting her to go somewhere else, they are getting creative.
Not that they’ll ever admit it, but there it is.

I was thinking the exact same thing as jefferson101.
I am a pharmacist and I am always hearing strange reasons why a Dr. cannot see a patient anymore, or they are not taking new patients.
The real reason is, like you say, they are world-class pains in the backside.

My GP of choice is a 30 mile round trip. Hell its about a 15 mile round trip to the grocery store, almost 6 to the nearest convenience store.
