Gun Auction
A bit back, TN passed a law saying that guns seized by police could not be destroyed. The idea, I guess, being that the police would then sell them to law abiding citizens. Well, McMinn county just auctioned off 445 confiscated guns. Local progressive contingent seems upset at the lawful transfer of firearms.

“Jason [Redacted], 38, of Dayton, Tenn., purchased a Magnum .22-caliber handgun for $230. He said he wanted a gun to carry for protection.”

Does anyone know if any notable deals were had? I wanted to go, but slept off a hangover instead.

There was a picture of a lovely Winchester 1873 in another news story last week. Hope it sold for >$1000.

“He said he wanted a gun to carry for protection.”
That’s such a pathetic rationale. Yet, that all that’s needed for people to carry a gun, so that they don’t get robbed/raped/murdered. Pretty easy, really.

Second, “destroy ’em” article and first few comments boilerplate silliness. Worried anout “straw purchasers” and “parking-lot sales” and all the usual. See “guns sold” but skip “by police at police station?” And the ever-popular “who needs…”
