The good news is the price of a nail installed by a nail gun is estimated to be 60% less than a hand-hammered nail, an all time historical low. So, he’s got that going for him.
I taught my kids respect for tools, both manually powered and electric/gas/pneumatic.
I taught them the difference between a tool, which was used to do a certain job and NEVER played with, and a toy, which could do anything you imagined it doing WHILE you played with it.
Oddly enough, I had not one bit of trouble introducing them to correct firearm use. The revolvers, pistols, shotguns and rifles were just tools to them, useful for certain jobs but not to be played with.
When I used to work at an orthopedic office, I saw someone walk in with a nail sticking out of his wrist from a nail gun incident. He was remarkably calm againt it. Looked painful.
