Comparing 511 Covert Pants 1 v. 2.0. I have about 5 pairs of the version 1.0. Never tried the new ones.

I really do not know why you guys call them covert… They scream look at me I am a cop.. Nothing covert about that unless you are impersonating a police officer. The cops wear them for the same reason. Nearly all the Davidson County Metro detectives wear these pants…Of course it could be because they all shop at Greenes Military Supply. Now all you have to do is buy the 511 polos and you will be all set..

I have worn my 511 pants almost exclusively for work. they’re comfortable, durable, and my kids get annoyed with how many pockets they have.
I do like the V.20 a bit better though. I never used the front pocket zipper pockets, so it just cuts down on bulk.

Because that’s the name of the product.

Also, I think you may be confusing the Covert Khakis, which are covered in the linked post and look like business casual khakis, and the Covert Cargos, which I ridicule here.

They should be called Overt.

I don’t get it. They are just like the dockers, what’s overt about em?

Being facetious.

The originals were an underrated, awesome product. I can’t for the life of me figure out why they didn’t just make the leg pockets deeper, and keep one of the zippered “pocket in a pocket” and maintain the same fabric.
Too much success with the standard cargos, maybe?
The new 5.11 fabrics are not what the old ones were, no doubt!
