SR-556C. I thought AFGs were designed to be further forward?

AFGs are designed for thumb over bore, where you place it is dependent on arm length and personal preference.
I keep the AFG closer in – about midway – because I like it that way. Arm’s length and all.
As for close-in, there are those who use the magwell as a poor-man’s vertical grip (myself, included).
I generally hate vertical grips or any gadgets on the AR. But I tried the AFG one day and it just felt right.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
