In NFA news
Been in the works for a while but never confirmed. Seems DOJ and ATF are planning on getting rid of begging for permission to purchase NFA items.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.

I’ll believe it when it actually happens.

I’m also hearing that as part of this proposed change, trust and corporate NFA owners will have a “responsible party” which will have to be fingerprinted for each purchase. (I can’t read the NRAILA or ammoland items on this, it’s blocked for me)

Let me know when the prohibition tax is lifted and a supressor doesn’t cost me a minimum of $400.
One less “mother may I” isnt any better in my case. We need to remove the NFA in and of itself.. and I would be fine with it being struck down piece by piece.

They are just accepting reality.
People living in jurisdictions where no one will sign have been using trusts and LLCs for quite some time now.

Why wouldn’t they. it makes them look responsive. Easy to do when they just aren’t issuing any stamps. Last time I heard anything on this there was a backlog of over 8 months and growing. In Ohio, we have Class 3 dealers selling suppressors at half price just to get money in the door…

I just got my suppressor in eight months of processing time. I don’t expect any better on the next two in the pipeline.
You know what would be a better use of time and money for trusts rather that putting the fingerprint requirement back onto trust? Just run a NICS check on all trustees in the trust. If they all pass, cash the check and deliver the tax stamp.

This has got to be some kind of trick.

4stroke and tirno have it right; backlog on NFA is running four to six months. Reason? Because there are supposed to be 12 “examiners” checking Form 4 documentation and at the moment there are three – due to “budget cutbacks”;they had to get the funding for the fiirearms buys for Mexico from somewhere…
