It is called the Kocher reflex. Compression of the testicles causes contraction of the diaphram and abdominal muscles. Sufficient pressure on the testicles for an extended perios of time causes asphyxiation due to paralysis of the diaphram. Yes, it is real. Yes, it works. Yes, the Persians used to execute people this way by tying them up and placing a heavy rock on the testicles of the condemned. And yes, ever since I first read about this years ago, I wanted it to be a cause of death on an episode of CSI.
