BTW do you think they were using ball, not soft point ammo? The bullet went through one dear and wounded another (per the quote).

Phenicks, yes the rifle is a Nagant, but it’s been re-worked into the Finnish wildcat 8x54R. Hipster rifle.

I liked Mosin-Nagants back before they were cool, especially the Chinese one that I got before the ban on PLA surplus imports. But now I find them roughly made, way too popular, and too easy to rust out with surplus ammo.
