While I understand and respect the sentiment about preserving the Icon that the M1 Garand has become, if the owner wants to put a snakeskin stock on his rifle, I say go for it.

If I recall correctly, Patton had almost the worst taste imaginable in stocks. But they weren’t pearl handled.

IMHO, the bolt gun stock in the thread looks even worse.
