It’s not need, it just happens because holster making is still stuck in the 19th century. There are pretty much two options, dead animal flesh or Kydex, hung on your belt. I left out nylon because there’s no such thing as a good nylon holster.
Holsters need a materials and ergonomics revolution and styles have to change to accomidate them better.
It’s not about need or even want. I ended up with a box of holsters through the trial and error of finding out what worked. 90% never leave the box anymore.
Jeff and Bubble, that is exactly the point. If you learn a little about what a holster should do and speak with a competent holster maker, you can get a good holster without the expense and frustration.
