I wouldn’t have assumed. He was fairly liberal back in the day, though in recent years he has had a tilt to the right.

No he wasn’t – he’s always been a pretty juiced up libertarian…
The question I have: Will Dave smile his black-toothed grin when they come?

Do not cross swords with me over early Megadeth.

Nothing about his early lyrics has ever said anything but “liberal dipshit” to me. I just like Megadeth’s sound enough to put up with it, a rare circumstance.

I’d say he’s always been pro-liberty, he’s switched from democrat to republican as the parties have both changed with the years.
Take “hook in mouth” (’88) for instance, he’s been against government censorship for over 20 years.

Yet, he voted for Bill Clinton twice, who was responsible for “censorship” in the form of the crime bill, and whose running mate’s wife headed up the PMRC…which Hook in Mouth was aimed at.
Look, I am a huge Mustaine fan, and I love that he is on our side now. But he wasn’t always.
