No thanks! Instead of stomping around the IHOP or Ponderossa attention whoring with a video camera and audio recorder, I’ll be shooting a steel match and an IDPA match. Going out shooting is so much more fun than armed activism and attention whoring.
I will carry concealed that day here in Texas, with my CHL. As noted, open carry is not legal here.
Andy is correct that shooting a steel match and IDPA are more fun than activism. Attention whoring might be more fun, or less, than a good day shooting. I don’t know.
I do know I’d like to be legal when carrying a handgun openly here in Texas. That this will come to pass will take some some activism, maybe armed activism, and perhaps even attention whoring. I’d rather be out shooting, too. Pity the legislature won’t allow both, yet.
Eh. Open carry weekend is every weekend. But kudos for spreading the good word and all that :).
And I never knew that simply going shopping for groceries or out to eat was “attention whoring”, Andy. Thanks for clarifying that for me. Of course, I remain perversely amused at people telling other people that X is “more fun” than Y, when “fun” is an intrinsically subjective concept open to personal interpretations and priorities. *shrug* Mita was right after all, and not just in relation to Andy.
Andy – thanks for the suggestion! I didn’t realize I was supposed to be recording everything while I was OCing. I guess maybe that’s because I thought it would make me look like an attention whore. Besides, it would be pretty boring footage.
Can someone tell me how those OC events worked out in California? I never saw a follow up, did the education attempts work to normalize OC? Wasn’t normalization and education the plan?

Oh, come on. OC would mean I took my shirt off. Even I, myself, don’t want to see that.

Andy,
We are NOT attention Whores, Whores charge for their services. Rather, we are attention SLUTS, since we give it away for free.
Words DO have meaning.
