Expanding health care coverage

So, the Obama administration mandates that insurance covers abortions and contraceptives. And they increased coverage to $100K. So, a Catholic school drops all student insurance.

Shocking.

Via PopeHat, and I apparently wasn’t told it was blog like instapundit day.

“That’s OK”, they’ll think. “We can just fix that with more legislation…”

Why do they think this? BECAUSE BIG-GOV

  2. Andy Says:

This is all part of the grand plan of getting everyone in a gov’t run so called single payer system. This was the hope, getting employers and schools to drop coverage and force people onto the gov’t system.

In the decades to come, Obama will come to be seen as transformational as FDR.

And it won’t be for the better.

Congress is incapable of repealing laws, and the courts are loath to anger the Free Sh*t Army — aka Obamanauts, aka OWS, aka 50% of America. Even if USSC finds ObamaCare unconstitutional, they will limit their finding to the mandate and leave the rest of the behemoth intact. That will only speed things up in the direction Obama was already going.

The only real power in America today resides in the Executive. We’re living in a type of soft dictatorship, with only the window-dressing left for the rubes to draw comfort.

Outlaw the Roman Catholic church, seize it assets and property and rename it the Peoples Catholic Church.

    It’s worked in the past.

  6. Social Media Sebastian Says:

Isn’t people buying their own insurance directly a good thing?

I got my first Popehatalanche today. It’s a big moment in a young blogger’s life…

Can anyone hear the train? We’ve been seeing the headlight for a while now!

    >Isn’t people buying their own insurance directly a good thing?

Yes, in an environment where government does not deliberately distort the market.

“So, a Catholic school drops all student insurance.”

    Was this the real purpose?

Throughout the ages, the rules of religions of ALL makes and models have been fiddled with, tweaked, adjusted, rewritten, ignored, added on to, subtracted from and twisted in every conceivable way to suit the needs of the chosen few that control them and therein control the masses of followers under them. Big Government is simply a Godless version of The Church.

    Ezra Taft Benson:

On the surface this may sound heartless and insensitive to the needs of those less fortunate individuals who are found in any society, no matter how affluent. “What about the lame, the sick and the destitute? Is an often-voice question. Most other countries in the world have attempted to use the power of government to meet this need. Yet, in every case, the improvement has been marginal at best and has resulted in the long run creating more misery, more poverty, and certainly less freedom than when government first stepped in. As Henry Grady Weaver wrote, in his excellent book, THE MAINSPRING OF HUMAN PROGRESS:

“Most of the major ills of the world have been caused by well-meaning people who ignored the principle of individual freedom, except as applied to themselves, and who were obsessed with fanatical zeal to improve the lot of mankind-in-the-mass through some pet formula of their own….THE HARM DONE BE ORDINARY CRIMINALS, MURDERES, GANGSTERS, AND THIEVES IS NEGLIGIBLE IN COMPARISON WITH THE AGONY INFLICTED UPON HUMAN BEINGS BY THE PROFESSIONAL ‘DO-GOODERS’, who attempt to set themselves up as gods on earth and who would ruthlessly force their views on all others – with the abiding assurance that the end justifies the means.” (p. 40-1; P.P.N.S., p. 313)
