The ability to print paid advertisements for local grocery and retail stores is a much more lucrative reason to own local papers than politics.
Where I live, the newspaper prints and mails their Wednesday shoppers’ inserts, with ads for everything, as junk mail to “occupant” because their circulation is insufficient to draw that advertising revenue.
Warren Buffet is a past master at recognizing value – and at bottom fishing when the prices are as low as they are going.

The price of being a crony and engaging in regulatory capture is still cheaper than the old standard of free market capitalism.
When Warren and BH just pays the frigging taxes they already owe, I’m sure he will feel much better about himself.
