Good news, bad news
The Pentagon has halted giving guns, aircraft and Humvees to states since they can’t account for them. Good news, a slow down on militarization of the police. The bad news, seems like a waste of cool gear.

Do I sense the long tail of F&F being wagged?
These should be coming soon to a CMP Store near you.

Hill Street Blues 2012…
“Let’s be careful out there. Oh, and if you see the two Humvees with the 50 cal. machine guns we misplaced, let the captain know where they’re at.”

Get the ATF right on THAT.

Sadly, you’ll never see another Army inventory firearm of any kind transfered to CMP. They’ll get all the Garands but that is all that they’ll get.

This stems from a dust up between an AZ Sheriff and DOD over surplus equipment (not weapons).

The DoD is always pissy about milsurp.
This started a few decades ago when some “target drones” they sold as surplus turned out to be fully functional Super Sabres.
Every year they try to dump legislation into the federal register that is so broad it would allow them to seize Revolutionary War artifacts, in a ham-handed attempt to get those jets back.

Better make sure Eric Holder didn’t “accidentally” sell them to Mexican cartels.
