The statement about being sold through CMP seems to be erroneous, though, unless the South Korean government just returns the Garands to the U.S. government rather than selling them to an importer.
The continued blocking of the M-1 Carbines because of the detachable high-capacity magazine is farce. Those firearms were manufactured using tax payer dollars, they already belong to the people and need to be brought back and put on sale thru CMP.
I’ve bookmarked the article to pass on to my son, so he can pass it on to his expected son.
It’ll be that long before the donkeyfied Senate ever passes a pro-gun law or the Socialist President ever signs one.
Dose of reality, peoples: if something supports the Constitution, and all the current ruling classes don’t, it’s best to not count on the Constitution being supported.

With VOC solvents banned in My State, all that cosmolene is going to be a bitch-kitty. I’d go long on Goo-Gone.

Missing are the large number of M1 Carbines… because they have an ammo capacity which is too dangerous for us common folk.

Bryan, don’t forget that ee-vill detachable magazine.

I’d like a Garand.
Cosmoline responds to gasoline and many other petroleum-based liquids, from what I’ve read.
How about GOOP, the gentle hand cleaner that removes dirt and grease that otherwise requires pumice soap?

Cosmo is easy enough to get rid of with 2 things… hot water and simple green.
If in a hurry, brake cleaner.

CMP sent an email out about this a while back:

Damned straight Obobo backed off.
That same legislation would have made every US made WWII MG still abroad a pre-May ’86 MG.
Heh.

The re-importation of the Garands is fantastic.

‘Bout damn time. Shouldn’t have even been a point of discussion in the first place. Now to get the same response on the carbines.

The world got just a little bit better today.
Guess what? Obama had nothing to do with it! 😉

deadcenter… those magazines are standard capacity for the firearm, not high capacity.
Guys… remember that… STANDARD capacity.
