That IS brilliant.
As long as it meets Federal minimum length requirements and there’s no more onerous State law, I think it’d even be perfectly legal.
(Probably; I certainly think that the Police don’t view that transfer as a “sale” entering commerce as such, and in any case it’s not crossing state lines…)

Won’t the ATF be interested to know there is a firearm owner who is “selling” more than 6 units per year? Does that not make him an unlicensed dealer subject to prosecution?
