AR Mag Magnet
For you folks in Cali with your bullet buttons this looks like a neat idea. I’m sure it will be made illegal soon.

I’m reasonably convinced they are already a felony.
At every gun show where they’re demonstrated, they show them on non-pistol-gripped builds, where the bullet button isn’t necessary anyway. If they were sure they were legal, they wouldn’t do that.
Don’t buy one. They’re almost certainly illegal, and the people who sell them are deceptive about it.

Illegal, why? You mean for use in California? The ad specifically states that they should NOT be left on in California.
I sort of wonder why they don’t qualify as the “tool” necessary to remove the mag? If a bullet or cartridge qualifies, why don’t these? Because they are magnetic and can remain attached? What about if you detach it each time you use it?
Interesting idea.

It is meant for Californ’s to use with their bullet button rifles when they travel to friendlier states…I assume they need a passport as well.

I’ve got a better gadget: not living in Kalifornia.

Here in CA, those are called “felony magnets”.

The ban is already proposed. CA SB249 makes possession of this magnet a crime. It doesn’t have to be on the gun (because it is already illegal), you don’t even have to own a bullet button equipped gun, you don’t even have to own a gun… if you are caught with this device, you go to prison.

I don’t get it why buy one of those if you are still breaking the law if caught with it on the weapon. Why not just build without bullet button.

Here in America, California is called “occupied territory”.

You know, its great to see CA go after this stuff now that its books are balanced and its internal troubles are all solved.
Oh, wait…

Good grief. People in California already have enough trouble with police illegally arresting some people who own legal bullet-button equipped rifles.
That being the case, can you imagine any LEO buying a claim from a gun owner that a mag-magnet is just for use outside California? AFAIK the official stance of California police is that possession of both a mag-magnet and a bullet-button rifle is constructive possession of an illegal “assault weapon”.
So don’t do it.

Hey, Ted: if you don’t want to help us, don’t. But we’re Americans fighting for our rights. Just because you believe some Americans are worth giving up on doesn’t mean the rest of us do. Just because you believe we ought to surrender some Americans’ rights doesn’t mean the rest of us do.
