I agree
Crimson Trace seems to be doing a fantastic job keeping up with the current firearms trends. This is a good thing. Quite frankly, law enforcement handguns should be equipped with a Crimson Trace laser by default with non-laser users having to justify not using the product. It’s not that I’m trying to sell Crimson Trace products here, although I am unabashed about it.

I disagree. This isn’t an anti-cop rant, but there is a reason my agency doesn’t allow lasers. It’s because most cops aren’t shooters, and a few have to ruin it for everyone by playing with their lasers like four year olds. When we first switched from model 10s to Glocks, one of our Detectives shot his partner in the chest because he was…playing with his laser. No amount of training can overcome dumbassery.
On a side note, the Detective didnt get qualified immunity on the civil suit. Shooting you partner in the chest while playing with your firearm like a toy isnt acting in good faith while in the performance of your duties.

Also, if you are relying on a laser to aim then you’re doing it wrong.
I don’t know how many times I’ve been to the range and seen some ninja with laser sites yanking the trigger and wondering why he missed the target.
It’s a tool like any other – only as good as the person using it.

Might be worth a shot, if it got them to hit the bad guy more than once every magazine. Then again, valid points above.
Heck, cat shootings might jump off the charts, with guys treating it like it’s a toy.

‘Instinct’ brings up a good question. As a non-laser user, is there any specific training needed to use a laser effectively? or is it as obvious as it seems?

I feel I need to share this with fellow shooters. LaserLyte has LOST my business. I got my S & W shield in the mail and it came with a booklet for accessories. In the booklet was a LaserMax, Inc. laser sight description. Later, I went to LaserLyte’s website and saw they copied the LaserMax description from the booklet, word for word! Even the headline. Not cool. I hope LaserMax calls them out for this.. if they even know yet.
