How progressive
Handcuff a woman and point guns at her son. Happens often enough you’d think they’d check addresses.
At jury selection for a minuscule amount of drugs:
But Wheeler – who was eventually picked for the jury – was even more surprised by the answers. She said yes, but 50 out of 130 jurors said no, they would not convict someone even if it was proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
“I was surprised it was that many,” Walker said.
One juror was more blunt than the others.
“She said, ‘I can’t believe I had to get in my car and come down here for this,'” Dupont said.
“It says there is a segment of the population that doesn’t think small possession cases should be punished as severely as the law call for them to be,” Assistant District Attorney Julian Ramirez said.
This isn’t a so-called trace case, the DA says she won’t prosecute. A trace is equal to single grain of equal; this was 40 times that. The law is clear.
“It’s against the law,” Ramirez said.
But Rangel’s defense lawyer says something else is clear too.
“They said they weren’t going to make somebody a felon and ruin their lives over less than a gram of cocaine,” Dupont said.
Good. Glad to see some people have some sense.
Top five carry guns. Per some guy on the internet.
Top 15 gun blogs, also per some guy on the internet.
NY Port Authority giving tickets to ride-sharers who are not violating any law. It’s all about revenue.
A guide from Shooting Illustrated.
Weird, because the internet told me that NRA hates NFA stuff.
I guess I don’t zen like most people.
Deals on phones, including a Nexus for $0.01. I love mine.

Michael Bane on Holder and executive privilege: Now We Know . . . just how high in the government Fast & Furious went.
Yup.
Scroll down to get past the Bronie stuff, but that is one sharp looking IWB mag carrier. And speaking of sexy leather, Michael also made this paddle holster.
More stuff from Eric Holder’s really bad day.
Holder lied to congress, CBS has the proof. Yes, CBS. It’s like some accidental journalism or something.
Trey Gowdy to the committee. I like that guy.
Fun begins at about the 30 second mark:
Looks like the committee holds Holder in contempt. On to the full house.
It takes another hit: Holder withdraws claim that Bush’s attorney general knew about gunwalking
Obama to congress: Fuck you
Candidate Obama on executive privilege. He should talk to this president Obama guy.
NRA to score the Holder contempt vote.
How can the President assert executive privilege if there was no White House involvement? How can the President exert executive privilege over documents he’s supposedly never seen?
If the Obama narrative is true (like all things, it’s Bush’s fault. Which is a lie), then Holder should be commended.
Went to lunch today and the radio was still on the local news talk channel and Rush Limbaugh was talking about fast and furious. He said, probably rightly, that it was a plan to gin up support for gun control.
Ever been made when carrying? Or made someone else? I did recently, snapped a shot:
I was made once that I know of.
Because of this. The judge did actually come out to the jury room and apologize to everyone for wasting their time. He was also visibly upset at the lawyers and even said so.
Cop pulls over motorcyclist who was not speeding so he can get the footage from the rider’s helmet camera. Seems the cop thought the footage may show the group breaking the law. Never heard of probable cause? Then, later, makes up excuse to arrest him. Dallas Deputy Sheriff James Westbrook should be tarred and feathered.
President Obama has granted an 11th-hour request by Attorney General Eric Holder to exert executive privilege over Fast and Furious documents, a last-minute maneuver that appears unlikely to head off a contempt vote against Holder by Republicans in the House.
As to why? Well:
Obama’s decision pertains to documents from February 2011 and afterward examining how Justice officials learned about the Fast and Furious probe.
They don’t want you to know what they know and when they knew it.
In an update on the Mayors Against Guns staffer getting paid on city payroll, Sean doubts that the 86 emails are the entire sum of her work product. If it is, she needs to be fired.
I think Jon Stewart’s funny and I semi-regularly watch his show. His criticism of politicians and the press is biting and on point. And he rarely holds back. However, when called on some things he says, he often pulls the but I’m just a comedian line that no one buys.
He has, a few times, supported tax increases for the wealthy (whoever they are) on his show. As one of the 1%, he could write a check to the Treasury for whatever he thinks his fair share is. I’m guessing he doesn’t. He also, apparently, doesn’t always pay his taxes.
Woman in court battle over her garden comes home to find city employees destroying her garden. Tar and feathers.
That’s what Reuters is calling Surface, the new tablet from Microsoft. Windows 8 will be a touch friendly OS. But it’s not an iPad killer. People like their iPads and they will have them no matter what new gizmo comes out.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
