Reap, sow

Seems the man who videotaped the situation in which he wound up killing someone and was convicted for it bought the propaganda from the press and the anti-gunners (but I repeat myself).

As a warning to others

In NJ, killing nuisance squirrels can result in 6 months in jail.

Seen on facebook and too cool not to share:

Gun laws continue to be ridiculous

In North Carolina, 60 people who are not felons went to prison for being felons in possession.

Federal law makes you a prohibited person, felon or no, if you were convicted of something that can land you more than one year in jail.

In Illinois

A concealed carry course is being offered in the only state that doesn’t have some form of handgun carry.

Gun Buy Backs and “Art”

Artist makes zip guns and sells them to the police in gun buyback programs for $300. Heh.

Speaking of zip guns, Steve has some cool pics of artsy zip guns.

Rigging the game

In Knoxville, there’s an election and a local legal hot shot, Shelley Breeding, was running for the seat in district 89. Seems that despite:

The state not knowing where the Anderson/Knox border is
Her mail goes to a Knox county address
Her address and deed are in Knox county
Her car is registered in Knox county
And she is registered to vote in Knox county

A court ruled she is not a resident of Knox county and cannot run for that office. This ensures that, basically, the Republicans will have no opposition. I’ve met Shelly before through a mutual acquaintance and she was referred to me once for a legal matter. She’s bright and capable.

I hope she appeals. Anyone know how to contribute to her cause? It’d mark the first time I donated to a Democrat.

Quotes of the day

Yeah, that’s right. It’s my blog and I can have two.

Bill: Why is Chicago more dangerous than Mogadishu? Because they have better gun control.

Tam: I mean, you can order bottled water from the internet, but you can’t get books out of your faucet.

In Fast and Furious News

Crisis stage: When a Demo is in the White House, WaPo is the White House’s PR agency, so I read this as indicating the White House has decided that he’s a lost cause.

A thing I think I want

An M&P22. If it had an M&P trigger, I’d like one. Anyone familiar with the trigger?

Why are anti-gun activists so violent?

Let’s make gun ownership punishable by death!

About that anti-gun activist on the city of Orlando’s payroll

Sean obtained copies of her emails and it’s clear that Mayors Against Guns is calling the shots.

I keep telling you the smart guys are on our team

Gene and the guys at the Calguns Foundation are awesome. In a piece on microstamping, the Paper of making up the Record points out:

In California, legislation signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2007 has been held up while the attorney general’s office makes sure the technology is unencumbered by patents, as the microstamping law requires. A gun rights group, the Calguns Foundation, went so far as to pay a $555 fee to extend a lapsing patent held by the developer to further delay the law from taking effect.

“It was a lot cheaper to keep the patent in force than to litigate over the issues,” said Gene Hoffman, the chairman of the foundation, adding that he believed the law amounted to a gun ban in California.

Also, it struck me that I read these articles and I actually know and have met the people mentioned. Two, in that article.

But they told me stand your ground laws are racist

So, why does Detroit lead in justifiable homicides?

Be careful when you leave America

Self-aiming bullets

Smart ammo:

Sandia’s researchers, though, have plumped for an old-style smoothbore barrel. That is because, instead of spin, their bullet is stabilised by four steerable fins at its rear. Those fins are linked to a computer chip that is, in turn, linked to an optical sensor on the bullet’s nose. A laser is shone at the intended target, the bullet is fired, and the chip uses the fins to adjust the bullet’s trajectory in mid-flight, a system similar in principle to the one used on anti-aircraft missiles.

OC and CC

Man open carrying robbed of his gun:

Investigators believe a man armed with a silver and black handgun entered the business and robbed the security guard of his loaded 9mm handgun, three loaded magazines, handcuffs, pepper spray and collapsible baton.

And in Nashville, someone robs someone and gets their gun. Then winds up shooting himself in the ass. Too bad his brains are only there figuratively.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
