Well, since falsifying information on the 4473 is perjury and is prosecuted with both boots, I’ll just have to admit to being Hispanic when I buy from an FFL. My father immigrated from Peru.
My half-Chinese (racially) kids will also be checking the (quarter) Hispanic (ethnic) box. They’re Hispanic Asians.
How many generations of my family will have to go by before my great^N grandkids have to stop checking that box, or they check all the boxes?

I’d be inclined to complete that part of the form by skipping the check boxes and writing in “FUCK YOU!” because I think that would be a more appropriate response for an American.

Every body should put African American because we all are, unless they define how far back you have to go. I like how you have to have id to buy something that maybe possibly someday dangerous, but you could vote for a hitleresque mad man no id necessary.

Hispanic/Non-Hispanic is actually your ethnicity when dealing with the federal government’s definition.
White/Black/Asian/Latino etc. is your race.

I was pretty sure that those boxes were optional, just as the social security number is optional.

Actually Ian, only the soc sec line states optional. So If you don’t fill it in, I can’t sell you a firearm. 🙁

Not that I don’t believe that; but I was pretty sure federal law made all that ethnicity stuff optional. Trust the BATFE…
