Bummed
So, I should be joining the cool kids somewhere south of Portland (but not much isn’t) at the Crimson Trace Midnight 3 Gun Shoot thingie. Except that whole part about going into business for myself, which means my boss is an ass. So there’s that . . .

Welcome to the leisurely life of the self-employed. You can just take off whenever you like! (It does feel pretty good to be independent, though.)

Wish you were here, dude, but nowhere near as much as you do. :p

Yep, I have the exact same guy!! What an ass!!!
However, remember you didn’t actually create your own business!! Words from the lips of the Big “O”:
“If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.” (there’s video)

I had a very good boss, self-employed, it was that dam lazy worker.

I am the Chief Operating Officer of my husband-and-wife LLC. The wife is the CEO.
Thus I can complain about the boss to friends. I try very hard not to complain about the boss at work. And she, as management, tries very hard not to oppress the worker.
We added my son to the LLC in case of our accidental deaths. He chose to be the Vice President for New Product Development. With this title, he is following the George Costanza career path, as far as I can tell.

A while back, someone mentioned to me that “business owners get to work half a day.” My response was: “and, we get to pick which 12 hours it is.”
I’m still waiting for it to get down to only 12 hours.

Yeah, owning your own business is great, except… If you’re not working, you’re not making any money…

The trick is to find a business that works whether you are currently active or not.

A former boss of mine was often fond of a little nugget of wisdom that I find increasingly true: “My friends are all jealous because now that I own my own business I can work just half a day. My favorite part is that no one cares which 12 hours it is!”
