TN FFL Info

Dennis did some research into numbers:

Currently, 1,290 Tennessee FFLs have a current account with TICS, affording them access to the TICS/NICS for the sole purpose of running the required background checks for firearm transfer eligibility determination.

900 (69.767% of total FFL licenses) are Type 01 FFLs (Dealers)
259 (20.078% of total FFL licenses) are Type 02 FFLs (PawnBroker)
123 (9.535% of total FFL licenses) are Type 07 FFLs (Manufacturer of firearms and ammo, excludes Destructive Devices)
6 (.465% of total FFL licenses) are Type 08 FFLs (Importer)
2 (.155% of total FFL licenses) are Type 10 FFLs (Manufacturer of firearms and ammo, ammo components, Destructive Devices & ammo for same, and armor piercing ammo)

Approximately 25 new FFLs are added to the system each month. However a slightly smaller number of FFLs cease transferring firearms for one reason or another each month. By rough estimate, the number of FFLs grows by about 15-18 per month.

    Hi!

I’m trying to contact Uncle on another matter entirely. Please contact me?

Hmm. Slight increase every month, and that’s just in TN. And considering the Money, Time and Effort to get an FFL, this means there must be some Consumers out there looking to purchase Firearms, Ammo and Accessories from those FFL Dealers.

Which means, in spite of the MSM’s latest Frothing, more Americans want Guns. Which is Why We Win.

  3. Kevin Baker Says:

So, how many McDonald’s restaurants are there in TN? According to a newsreader, there are more FFLs in the US than McDonald’s’. Just wondered if that was true, or another um, exaggeration.

  4. Jack Says:

Indeed Les, the ATF doesn’t want new “kitchen counter” FFLs. That means that all the new guys have to have some sort of business up (perferably in the ATF’s eyes an actual storefront to boot) and then to keep their FFL that business has to continue to run.

That means net-net the number of businesses selling this stuff has to be going up, which as you said, means there has to be more buyers.

Yes there is also be the same people buying more, but they would have a greater tendency to buy from the same stores.

Another ignorant post from an uncle commenter. I have a ffl in Tennessee. I sell machine guns and silencers from my house. I received that 01 ffl this year.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
