At the range I use, leaving it is fine. There are a few guys that come with their own push brooms and buckets to collect it for reloading or to sell to reloaders or gun shops, so you’re generally expected to leave it unless you reload. I suspect a good part of any money they get for the brass gets donated toward upkeep costs for the range.

The etiquette varies. At the range that I use, the attendants pick up spent brass.
