37 things you need in a crisis
I guess some folks like to start their day clearing the parking lot?
A tale of two shootings. Gee, what was different?
The mass shooting in Aurora you didn’t hear about. Gee, I wonder why?
But I read on the internet that lights and lasers give away your position.
Yup: It could have been much worse had the murderer chosen to use something other than guns as his weapon of choice. In a sense we could say that it’s a good thing guns are readily available because if had he used other tools the carnage could have included everyone in the theater. A few box cutters come to mind.
Gun control advocates sputter at their own impotence.
Wayne LaPierre was apparently standing next to the shooter. In captain coo coo banana land.
Guns are bad, mmmkay. They only know the one song.
One Tennessee man did. The article is poorly written since you don’t need a permit to own. But still, it’s progress.
And other thoughts on the movie massacre and political posturing.
First, to quote Tam: I don’t care if every other gun owner on the planet went out and murdered somebody last night. I didn’t. So piss off.
Before the bodies were cold and stacked away, everyone was playing pin the political label on the nut job. Notably, Brian Ross libeled some guy with the same name, unaware it’s a common name. And he did so wetting his pant (in the good way, not the bad way). Seems Ross was so excited to blame the shooting on right wingers and tea partiers that verifying facts wasn’t important. The narrative was.
Sued.
And kicked in the dick.
And the Breitbart folks bleat He’s a registered Democrat so take that. Only, you know, not. He should also be fired, sued and kicked in the dick.
The HuffPo tries to smear the gun lobby, who as far as I know didn’t shoot anybody.
Bill Maher shows once again how right wingers are bigoted. Or something.
And while we’re at it, let’s blame trekkies, cosplayers, video games, and Occupy Wall Street.
Sickening.
I’ll need more dick kicking shoes.
How times have changed. Don’t expect a push for new gun laws. And that makes Bloomberg cry.
And this is just a bit on the press coverage. We can Monday morning quarterback the shooting on, err, Monday.
Got word of the situation in Colorado via radio this morning. First thought was wondering how long before the feds say it’s not terrorism. And the next words out of the broadcaster’s mouth was that.
And how quickly did politicos start playing pin the political label on the nut job?
New ATF chief warns of retaliation against whistleblowers. Say, isn’t the DOJ currently “investigating” that from the old boss?
That’s really how I view the recent “you didn’t build that” comment by the president. It’s a serious lack of understanding. Hey, if roads meant successful business then everyone with access to roads would have one, right?
And another one: Elizabeth Warren, Again: “Nobody got rich on their own. Nobody.” This woman is increasingly an embarrassment.
Quote of the day: Noticed how quick the private sector is.
Related. I laughed hard.
So, at one of the properties I’m working on, some miscreant came up to an exposed manhole and spray-painted a naked girl on the side of it. Of course, since the property is looking to be sold, that’s an eyesore that I’ll have to take care of. I’m leaving myself a reminder in my phone when the following conversation happens:
Me: Hmm, I wonder how bad it would be if my wife saw “take care of naked girl” on my calendar?
Other guy: Well, you could put “take care of manhole”.
Me: Manhole? Really, that’s better?
And a couple of kids, until I turn them loose on the world.
Apparently, my looking out for me is some sort of -ism. And it’s cause for concern amongst statist pricks.
Also, seriously, this you didn’t build that thing. I think our president has the mind of a child.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
