Why aren’t you wearing high top work boots. I bet you ride a motorcycle in shorts and flip-flops. Wear the proper gear for the job (speaking from experience with the scars to prove it).
You look alright. Keep it up. The best quote I liked from “Conan the Barbarian” (the movie) was from some mean-looking black guy, “In my youth I searched for the riddle of steel. Do you know what the riddle of steel is, boy? Flesh is stronger than steel.”
@sendarius: +1! Can’t stress strongly enough how important good boots are. A friend of mine once stepped on a nail while wearing sandals on a job site. He pulled it out, wrapped it up, & didn’t see a doctor.
He has hemophilia. Later on, five days in the hospital to treat the infection, & $30,000 for bottles of platelets.
Glad to hear you are on the mend…will go back and re-read how that trailer got loose in the first place…appreciate the chance to read and get the lesson without the pain…thanks for the post.
I heard about a guy doing construction work wearing steel-toed boots and a “fully-wet” 55-gal drum of something fell off the pallet and landed on his foot – and the “steel-toe” part caved-in and chopped off his toes. But New Balance tennies are no better than flip-flops.
When I was 17, I worked for a swimming pool company. I was having to use the jack hammer to set a grade pin, because the drill had taken a shit. Long story short, jack hammer bits can fatigue, and shear. The dressing, for my big toe, was a feminine hygiene product, and duct tape. Running shoes SUCK for construction.

Glad you are on the mend. Ouch.

That one what? I can’t for the life of me figure out what you are talking about. Will this be a “well duh” moment for me?

I’m guessing the end of that bolt caught your ankle when you sat the tongue down? Ouch.

And, BTW, now we agree on three things — liking dogs, .22s, and New Balance shoes.

That is not a proper storage location for hitch bolts.

How far from your ankle bone did it go in? Getting hit hard enough to shove that blunt surface into your leg would have done wonders to a bone.

+1 for work boots.
High top leather work boots … with steel toe caps.

Must’ve been a fairly new trailer? Ankle-biter years can be the most difficult.

May I suggest you post a similar picture with your foot encased in a high-top, steel toed boot?

Third video on the page is useful.

Big +1 on high top, steel toed boots.

Honestly. I cannot believe you haven’t gone out and gotten yourself a decent pair of boots yet.
