What Media Bias?
I spent a good portion of this weekend watching college football. Our local team had their opener. Since deciding to be an Alabama fan just so I’m not always disappointed, I of course was looking forward to their opener. But what cracked me up was the coverage from the sports talking heads in the two days of jibber jabber that is sports commentary. They were saying things like to beat Michigan, Alabama will have to . . .. The presumption being that Alabama, ranked 2 and defending national champions, was somehow at a disadvantage in the game. You know what Alabama had to do? Show up.
And don’t even get me started on USC.

You should have heard the media up here in Michigan. It was if Alabama would be just a speed bump on the path to glory lead by Denard Robinson.
Delusional. All of them.

I can’t wait for Alabama to dismantle USC.

Being from Louisiana, I am quite naturally a fan of LSU, so I’d rather hit the showers at Penn State than say something good about Alabama.
But it’s football, and that’s the way people are supposed to feel abut football teams.

You guys have it easy. My alma mater, Texas A&M, was just bought into the SEC. Goodbye to all the traditional games against other Texas schools, including Univ. of Texas Austin, or t.u. as we Aggies call it.
Am I confused? No, I know exactly what the pimps in charge of A&M football did.

Yawn. I really do not understand this curious fascination so many neurotypicals have with watching other people play stupid ball games. Yes, I have attended football games myself, but I was wearing a band uniform every time. Paying money to attend a feetball game seems really insane to me.

P.s. When I first read Tom Clancy’s novel in which the Superbowl got nuked, I was horrified, thinking that innocent bandsmen might have been killed. I have learned lately that the Stupor Bowel no longer has band music, so I say, go ahead and nuke the thing. You won’t kill anybody I would care to meet. I really hate sports fans.

Well, I don’t much hold with gambling, card playing, and dancing, either. At some point, you either come to terms with it in your own way, or depart for where they play ball with no hands.
Because I so disdain games of ball, I attended My State U’s rifle team fundraiser. Nice little gathering. Dynamic new coach. There was a raffle; we won. The prize was…football tickets. The gods will have their jokes.

The talking heads on TV were way off on that game! My father-in-law and I could have told them that even if the two benched starters had played, Michigan was out classed; Alabama was bigger and faster than UofM. I have a feeling it is going to be a long season in Michigan, hopefully MSU will be exciting and then their is the old standby of Centeral Michigan. Its good to have option!

I’m a MS State alumni and fan, and while we’re not even remotely a powerhouse, it wasn’t a fair fight when we demolished Michigan in the Gator Bowl a couple years ago. It sure as hell wasn’t a fair fight sending them up against Bama.
Michigan’s last two games against the SEC they lost by a combined 93-28…

To mikee above,
The Aggies of Texas A and M were admitted to the SEC because they are a better Team yoy than UTA. A Florida Gator fan welcomes you to The Swamp.
