Actually, my department trains us to use the weapon as a blunt instrument in close quarters battle. This was obviously not the case. But you’re supposed to take your finger off the trigger! Why didn’t you take your finger off the trigger, dumbass?
There is no way this kid is going to be convicted of anything unless the jury is retarded. Look to see his department settle this case for an undisclosed amount.
With the cost of digital video surveillance dropping and the number of installations increasing, we’re going to keep seeing more of this nonsense from the cops. Just think. For the past 50 years they’ve been doing this kind of crap and getting away with it. How many innocent kids have been warehoused in jail because the cops lied? For far too long the only recourse was a lawsuit that would take years to go nowhere. It’s about time that cops who behave like this start going to jail for their actions. I know, in this state, that the actions on the video would be grounds for a decade in jail.
In my home town, the latest uproar is a video of a cop kicking a handcuffed guy on the ground in the head, repeatedly.
“The police union is fully supporting the officer and the video does not show the full incident”.
Until we remove the immunity from the cops for willful misconduct we just have to keep paying those settlement.
