That presumes the cat’s visual spectrum is like ours. I may experiment, now that I have a cat that’s interested in lasers (one of the old ones is blind and the other just doesn’t play). I wonder why it’s taken so long for these guys to do an IR laser sight; I thought of that about 20 years ago. Should I have patented that, too? Crap.

Cost.
I bought a red laser pointer for like $200 in 1994. If you wanted a green laser in 1996, it cost as much as a used car. Blue lasers are still very expensive today. IR Laser pointers are in the $200 range
