With bonus ‘what’s wrong with the headline?’
Flight attendant forgets gun and takes it into airport. When a cop handles it, it goes bang.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.

He should be fired for negligence, discharging a firearm in a Federally sacred zone, plus scanned in the all-naked machine until he has bleeding red warts on his scrotum.

They ought to give HER her pistol back and tell her to be more careful next time.

The word “security” in the headline is an oxymoron.

“When a cop handles it, it goes bang.”
Why does this not surprise me?

“where an airport police officer attempted to unload the gun, and it discharged into a wall.”
Attempts? to unload a freaking DAO revolver, with no hammer, and he fails? What kind of trigger pull did that thing have so that he had a negligent discharge?
And I love the passive voice. “IT” discharged into the wall, NOT the cop fired it into the wall.
Just magically happened…..

Cargosquid beat me to it.
It’s a S&W Airweight .38 revolver. HTF do you have an ND unloading a swing-out DA revolver?!?
Barney Fife was going all, “Pew! Pew! Pew!”, wasn’t he?

AD a REVOLVER? How in the heck?
Sounds like the TSA are just stupes (but I repeat myself.)
I guess they looked down the barrel to see if it was loaded and then pulled the trigger to make sure.

The cop was unloading the revolver one bullet at a time. And quit giving him a hard time. Remember, he has more training than we mere civilians.

Dear lord, what a tard.
I guess he assumed she only was allowed one bullet in the pistol, like he was.

Honest– I was cleaning my slingshot and it just went off

As to the headline? Everyone knows when you TRY to sneak a gun through security, you place it in a purse and run it through an Xray scanner.
FYI, not that it matters but it was a Woman Philly cop who will be promoted soon due to her being a woman and a minority.

The police intervention and subsequent negligent discharge were a greater threat to public safety than her merely having her gun. That’s another reason we have the RIGHT to keep and bear arms – it keeps ignorant, fumble-fingered, government buffoons from messing with our weapons and thereby endangering people’s lives.

is gun. unload it. Do NOT lose that round.
