There’s not justice system, just a legal system
Finds that nothing really happened and nothing about the law is bad. Gun controllers upset, want more funds to support their version of reality.
Having solved all of NYC’s problems, the city moves to ban sodas larger than 16oz.
States decriminalize recreational use of weed. Obama’s DOJ will crush them for that.
What would Mitt Romney do to the porn industry?
Right wing versions of left wing ideas. Yeah. One of the things the current R ticket has going against it is that Ryan has voted for all of this spending he now wants to curtail. And, you know, Bush 2 was not exactly one to push for smaller government. In fact, he grew it to the largest point it had been.
Heh.
At one point, I interviewed with a company and hit it off with the CFO and CEO. Then, I met the operations guy who was running the local show. I’d have indirectly reported to him and we know how that goes. He spent our interview time asking me questions about shifting paradigms and leveraging resources and value added catalysts for change and what kind of tree I would be. You know, that line where hippie-speak meets MBA-speak. It’s right there in that place where white-guilters and environmentalists decided to go to business or law school instead of liberal arts so they can change the world and make some money. Back when consulting was big. It was an odd place. Anyway, after the fifth or so histrionic question, I asked the guy, very dead pan, if he was going to ask me or offer me something substantive. He looked perplexed. And I told him that I think I we’re done here.
A thing hiring people tend to forget is that not only are they interviewing you, you’re interviewing them.
Update: Oh and one of the questions went like this:
Interviewer: How do you handle conflict?
Me: That really depends.
Interviewer: On?
Me: Well, am I right or am I uncertain?
Interviewer: You’re right.
Me: Then I tell them to do it my way and that’s that.
Interviewer: *looks puzzled*
Mom indicted after son born addicted to painkiller
Pregnant woman leaves against medical advice, has child in parking lot, child dies. Charged with neglect.
The joke about Mayors Against Guns has often been that they are illegal mayors since they seem to get arrested more often than concealed carriers. Well, they seem to have figured out that bit of embarrassment and now scrub mayors from their site when arrested. They can learn.
Having never heard of the wayback machine or archiver, a judge demands twitter turn over tweets. Ok.
Need a decent fixed-blade knife for work. I cut everything from corrugated pipe to wood. The folder is nice but not as handy as a fixed blade would be. Thought about a Ka-Bar, but at that price I’d be annoyed if I damaged it. This Gerber also looks to fit the bill.
What say you?
Cool video:
I especially like that they did some with the camera down range so you can hear it on the receiving end.
No surprise that H undh K doesn’t want to sell it’s uber tacticool, wizbang odd-calibered personal defense weapon. After all, they shit on the civilian market a lot. But when a magazine that pimps guns to gun people agrees with them that civilians shouldn’t own this gun, that’s stupid. Instead of sucking up to the HK rep and pull a Zumbo, ask them why they think I can’t own a small caliber gun that (being an HK) probably has a shitty trigger?
Also, H undh K has no problem with this gun in movies.
And it’s having an effect on their advertisers.
Update: Tam:
The ironic thing is that, thanks to the vagaries of 922(r) requirements, a semiauto MP7 clone here would be dumb, awkward, overpriced and just generally turn into eventual CDNN fodder* in the same fashion as the import-neutered G36 variant, the SL8.
Heh.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
