R.F. knows one thing most gun blogs don’t.
You have to post CONTENT. TTAG does this in spades. Most of the people that bag on TTAG slobber all over Gunblast, AKA the non-review site where any POS that comes on the ups truck is the best thing ever.
Is R.F. creepy? I dunno. There is PLENTY of creepy, plenty of slipshod ethics and overarching arrogance in the gun blog world that is overlooked EVERY DAY.This ranges from open admissions of withholding facts and collusion with manufacturers to chitchat about personal sexual expectations.
And let’s face it. Many, many posts on many many gun blogs are either re-hashes, commentary, or links on someone else s work.
The Gunwire is simply drudge gone guns, with no original content AT ALL, and three fourths of it’s page views generated by automatic page reloads.

I worked in DC for three years, over 1.5 decadea ago, and several times wondered if I was violating local law by having a 22LR round roll out from under the seat as I drove down the Bal-Wash Parkway.

Evidence? Go to Gunblast. Read and watch EVERY single review. You will find nary a criticism of ANY firearm or accessory. EVER. You WILL find sidebars full of banner ads though.
The admission of withholding material facts was made by none other than Michael Bane himself, who, as a self proclaimed industry insider, stated that he held criticisms on the down low, communicating them to manufacturers, but NOT CONSUMERS. He said he considered Jeff Quinn and insider as well.
And the other stuff was posted on a blog, linked to on this very web site.
And stealing. Whole websites are built on it. Many contain NO original work at all, yet we read them and like them with a clear conscience. You can re post someones else’s words with a three word commentary and it’s ‘free use’. So let’s not get all wound up like it was Metallica Vs Napster m’kay?

The point being that Emily Miller addressed such issues in her reporting, which is better than any other writer for any DC paper ever did before her.
So spin it all you want, you were rude. An apology would seem to be in order, but I know better from previous examples to expect one.

@mikee-you were. It’d be constructive possession, so the likelyhood of a trial going forward probably isnt even in the single digits…but technically you would be in violation of dc code. Despite city councils proclamations that its the cops creating the gun laws, they have been nickel and diming Heller since the ruling. Then Mayor Fenty and Lanier actually held a press conference stating how dissapointed they were with the Supreme Court.
