He stopped being funny when people started telling him his opinions were both relevant and important.
Its like Lewis Black…really funny guy, until he starts trying to be poignant.
College professors who have good comedy timing are the best lecturers ever, but Comedians who lecture just expose how ignorant on the subject they really are.

He’s become a little more comfortable saying what he thinks. That’s all. As they become very successful, they tend to sequester themselves in a tiny world where everyone around them looks up to them and agrees with them.

Same thing happened to Carlin… at the end of his life he became very bitter. I expect that Maher is at the end of his “entertainer” life and will become a full-time writer at The Daily Kos.
