Philly Publishes Gun Owner Info
I’m used to newspapers doing that when they’re trying to be edgy or draw page views. But the city licensing department did that. And this is scary:
Over the summer , L&I posted on its website Lawrence’s full name, address and the specific reasons he wanted the permit – along with an interactive map to help users find their way to his doorstep.

HORRIBLE idea, publishing carry permittees’ information. Can gun owners sue the city for breach of privacy? Or can we engage in a counter-strategy of publishing the addresses of the publisher, the editor, the reporters? (Or at least a letter-writing campaign to the newspaper asking would they care to have that info exposed for all and sundry to know?)

So a stalker can conveniently look up whether or not his potential victim can protect herself. Classy.

It would seem that the city licensing department would be liable for any injuries in the first abusive spouse hunting down the abused spouse instance.
Or burglars using it for a shopping list.
In my case, our own beloved Commercial Appeal put links on their web page to look up HCP holders statewide. Using that and two other websites, I managed to find my own name, address and phone number in about 45 seconds. The really insulting part was that at first, the HCP holders link was right next to the link for locating child molesters.

Start off by finding ALL the info you can about EVERYONE who works in that dept in any capacity, and then make it as public as possible.
Frankly, other than the loss of some museums and such like, you could nuke that town and it would be no loss to the republic. Might actually be a gain. I grew up in the shadow of that pustule on the butt of PA, and the only reason I ever went there was street racing on weekend evenings. (Wheel standing ’57 Chevys on Delaware Ave…ahh, memories)

I’m no lawyer, but it seems to me that a good one could make courtroom hay of this plan, should a person have to shoot someone who had designs on a gun owner’s guns, and had found out where they were via this route.
Since all the Citehs shrink back from policies threatened by any lawyer, this is a policy that ought to be in range for a good plaintiff’s attorney.
