Since this comes up every once in a while, I feel compelled to once again say this
Believe it or not, some government employees read gun blogs because they’re on our side. Even at the DOJ. It’s not a big deal, really.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.

I do agree with Uncle, but it is fun to add to the Black Helicopter Conspiracy bonfire.
I have regular visitors from Fort Huachuca, home of the U.S. Army Intelligence Center and the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command. Homeland Security is also a regular visitor but that is old news.

As long as the visits from government personnel, using their government computers, are work related, everything is OK. However, use of government computers for ANY non-work related use, including surfing of the internet, is explicitly forbidden (everywhere I have ever worked).
This rule is the easiest way to fire someone in the Federal Government, because otherwise EEOC, HR, SEIU, and perhaps other acronyms can become involved and it it might take years to remove an incompetent secretary or an illiterate bureaucrat from their post. But the “no looky” rule is a bright red line, and computer records are readily available to the boss, so it gets used fairly often.
Hopefully the gunnies in the government visiting your sites have gun-friendly bosses, or they might be pointing a loaded weapon at their own jobs.

“…”use of government computers for ANY non-work related use, including surfing of the internet, is explicitly forbidden…”
That would never happen.

Tim, that is exactly the point. It is very useful to have a rule on the books that is so very harsh, although rarely enforced, because when you do enforce it there is no way for the targeted employee to fight it.
If that seems arbitrary and unfair to you, we can talk about purchasing through the GSA sometime.

Yup. Arbitrary, selective enforcement of rules against a wrong-thinking people.

What I hope the broad, generally-conservative, 2nd amendment community can appreciate, is that they can depend upon significant support from within the ranks of the military. While senior officers may be loathe to risk their careers in support of their constitutional vows, many others stand ready to defend the values they swore an oath to defend.
