One gun, three murders
One 22 caliber gun has been used in 3 murders. These murders couldn’t have happened because you can’t carry a gun in NYC. There’s a $22K reward.

Amazing that that little .22 was one shot one kill for 3 out of 3.

“These murders couldn’t have happened because a .22 doesn’t have knockdown power.”

Well, they have magic laws in NY that keep guns out of the hands of, um, everyone, why not a magic .22 that’s the most powerful handgun in the world and could blow your head clean off?

Executions.

Could be the ghost of Arlen Spector… guiding a single 22 bullet….

Well, according to Fox:
“Professionals sometimes use .22s, which make less noise and, because it has less firepower, it does a lot of internal damage.”

I would figure the true pros would use untraceable poison or something similarly sneaky.

Wizard,
I wasn’t questioning the use of the .22 for a stealthy application, only the statement that is does a lot of internal damage solely because it has less “firepower” (whatever that is).

According to some, a .22 isn’t a “real” gun, so it SHOULD be allowed in NY.

Poor Bloomy. Per the news it’s a sawed-off Ruger 10/22.
Not an out-of-state “iron pipeline” handgun, not even a real “assault weapon”; the police spokesmen didn’t even go all breathless, as they would, over a 25 round magazine being present.

Hard to tell from the pic, but maybe the 10/22’s wood stock was cut off. Doesn’t look like the barrel was cut down, Duck Tape attachment of flashlight to barrel. Not exactly inspirational for new gun laws.
The real issues here are the individual’s motivation to kill, and the enforced-by-law defenselessness of the victims. No old Charter Bulldog in the pocket for the victims. That antiquated, five-shot, .44 could have stopped this guy before victim one, but that’s not an option in Bloomberg’s gun-free paradise. Except when you’re dead. Is being dead considered to be a legitimate reason for CCW in Bloombergland? I suppose that it is in what passes for England these days.
