As soon as I heard the interview on NPR, I ordered the book for my Kindle.
Not the easiest read (some pretty tedious details around the colonial times and constitutional history), and I’m less than half way through the book, but so far, it seems like a fairly balanced and objective.
I used to like asking my leftist acquaintances “for 8 years, you screamed about how Bush was going to suspend elections in ’08. If he HAD, explain to me how you would resist?”
I suspect that protesting with Che T-shirts and giant paper mâché puppet heads wouldn’t impress someone who just suspended elections.
I thought the liberals case for the 2nd amendment was to protect themselves from all those gun nuts… Or it could be more of an Accepting the inevitable.. Vanderboegh said it best. Try and take our guns and we will kill you.. Seems to me either way its a case of if you can’t beat’em join’em
Liberals have always been for guns – in the hands of their forces. What liberals are not for, in general, is the individual right of self defense, or the individual right to keep and bear arms.
Totalitarians love guns, as long as they are used only by the totalitarians.

Listening to that ‘interview’ reminded me once again why I’m so glad I finally left NY and moved to TX.
