Wounded Warrior Project Anti-Gun?

Seems they have a policy that is:

WWP does not co-brand, create cause marketing campaigns or receive a percentage or a portion of proceeds from companies in which the product or message is sexual, political or religious in nature, or from alcohol or firearms companies.

Also, in Chicago

$25 per gun sales tax approved. I’m pretty sure taxing a right is illegal, like poll taxes. I’m betting the SAF is licking its chops.

Breaking the law: no big deal if you’re the Chicago mayor

Much hubbub was made about police there arresting people for recording the police under and eavesdropping act. And now:

Mayor Rahm Emanuel, at a Monday news conference, didn’t like questions about whether his press office had recorded reporters’ conversations without first seeking their consent.

That’s a big no-no under the Illinois Eavesdropping Act, one of the toughest two-party consent laws in the country.

One woman, Annabel Melongo, spent 20 months in Cook County Jail before a judge finally freed her.

Her crime: She had recorded a couple of phone calls with a court clerk. We’re talking felony, folks.

Emanuel, invoking “Will” Shakespeare, dismissed such bothersome questions about his press office doing the same as “much ado about nothing.”

God bless, Texas

Will Texas Nullify Both NDAA and TSA? Here’s hoping. As to part of what it does:

On Monday morning, Rep. David Simpson (R-Longwood) prefiled The Texas Travel Freedom Act (House Bill 80). If passed, the law would make it a criminal act to intentionally touch “the anus, breast, buttocks, or sexual organ of the other person, including touching through clothing,” without probable cause in the process of determining whether to grant someone access to a public venue or means of public transportation.

Going after the TSA. Good.

Hey, it’s this again

When you die, have your ashes out into ammunition. This pops up every year or so.

Another Illegal Mayor

Looks like a NJ Mayor Against Guns is being investigated. Shocking. It’s like it’s a trend or something.

Girl With No Arms Shoots Guns

Cool video. As a bonus, the shirt she’s wearing is an image that hangs above my desk. It always makes me smile:

That’s not earth-fucking, this is earth-fucking:

Turbo diesel, woot.

Protecting and serving

In Florida, a man was using a water hose to spray a fire that was approaching his house. So, the police tased him for it.

Was it big boy rules?

So, one of those guys that posts training videos on the internet that gun blogs link to and point out the suck and fail? Yeah, he went and got himself shot:

Unknown to him [Sonny Puzikas], one of his instructors was still inside when he opened fire with a 9 mm semi-automatic pistol, striking unaware instructor in the hand and twice in the abdomen.

Be sure of your target.

Doing it wrong

So, a bunch of people are signing these petitions for their state to secede from the union. This is a settled matter. A state cannot secede, that is illegal and treason. Unless you manage to pull it off, I guess.

Also, if you’re going to secede, you just kind of do it. You don’t ask permission. Geez.

I imagine it going more like this.

New Double Stack .45ACP

They tried this once before with the P221. Here’s a pic of one from SigTalk:

Guns and EPA

Do you want the EPA regulating your ammo stash?

Liberties only for those I approve of

Some English Senior:

In a country where there are actual disenfranchised communities who need more liberties — like immigrants and the GLBT community — it is laughable to say that gun owners need more liberties.

Yes, because these other classes don’t have enough liberties, we shouldn’t focus on the liberties of those people I don’t like.

Good news, bad news

Halbrook looks at NRA v. BATFE and note’s it’s, well, wrong. But while the case concludes that handgun sales to those under 21 can be banned, it has a bit of a silver lining:

The government thus asserted that the plaintiffs were not injured and lacked standing. The court disagreed, finding the inability to purchase a handgun from a dealer to be a concrete, particularized injury.

Would have made the Heller case a bit easier.

I laughed at this too

Some particularly bad gun handling in The Walking Dead. Let’s see: holding a knife, chicken wing, no rear sight.

Excellent Cuban Sandwiches

Last week, I stopped at The Aroma Cafe and had a Cuban sandwich. It came with red beans and rice. It was excellent. Highly recommended.

The Brady Campaign goes after small business

In Cali, they don’t want some one engaged in the business of selling guns. It is Cali so it may work.

Unpossible

A shooting at a mall. It’s illegal to carry a gun in Illinois Indiana*. It’s illegal for a teenager to own a handgun. And there’s no such thing as a “a large caliber .762”.

* Geography, I don’t know my way around yankeeland. Turns out, this was Indiana.
