Gun Porn
I’m kind of wanting an Alaskan Co Pilot: A fast handling take down lever action rifle with an overall length of as little as 35 inches, that weighs as little as 6 1/2 lbs. and has MOA accuracy. And, you know, .50 caliber.
I’ve shot this exact gun and it is awesome.

I’d really like a Coonan, need a decent paycheck first.

It’s just a tacticool version of the Marlin 1895G which I have in .45-70, sweet rifle. (with a very respectable recoil!)

The Beowulf .50 and Socom .458 both will also break down, and they will also both allow larger mag capacity and thus a larger safety margin.
Both have very similar ballistics to the .45-70, although they can be loaded to out perform traditional .45-70 loads.
To top that off, they also both have less recoil than the lever action, because of their gas operating systems.
The lever guns look cool, though!

I’ve felt the same about that sweet lever-gun many times. It could be fun.

Do you have to empty the tube magazine before breaking it down?
