Sloppy reporting

A piece on states subsidizing gun makers says:

Taxpayers across the country are subsidizing the manufacturers of assault rifles used in multiple mass killings, including the massacre of 20 children and six adults at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn. last month.

Yes, you taxpayers paid for those guns that killed people!

What’s next? Will they start publishing the names and addresses of folks who work for Remington, Smith and Wesson, or any of the other semiautomatic or AR manufacturers?

Will reporters start lining up outside the factories and ask, “How could you work every day for XYZ knowing that their products–the very things you manufacture with your soiled hands–are used in killing little children?”

Forget the Obamaphone, where can I sign up for my Obamarifle?

He’s already paying for my mortgage, contraception, and my prescription painkillers, what’s another $1200 for a 6920?

Like tax payers didn’t pay for the guns in Fast & Furious that were used to kill Mexican citizens?

  4. Motor-T Says:

Taxpayers usually pay for the guns used in genocides too.

To put this article in perspective: Sears was thinking of moving its headquarters from Illinois to anywhere else with a more sane tax rate. Illinois stepped up with a $275,000,000 package of tax exemptions rather than lose that many taxpayers.

$19,000,000 from multiple states to multiple recipients is pocket change in the matter of tax breaks.

    A couple questions:

    1) why did it take four people to write this…was it a school project?

    2) why is the major quote in the article nothing more than opinion from someone that lives in Ct and from her statement has no dog in the race?
    3) who put together that “sig and money” collage for the article? Whoever it is, I know they must be proud at their high level of creativity. It’s symbolic, you guntoting simpletons. My parents spent 83k on my Masters Degree in Symbolic Artistry, and that doesnt even count my Masters is Ironic Diorama( which I will finish in 2025…its not a race. Im really stretching out the colleve experience to find myself).

Where do I sign? I’d like more of “my tax dollars” to go to a cause like that. I think it sends the right message.

  8. tkdkerry Says:

Ironic Diorama? That’s good; I’m gonna have to steal that one.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
