“RULE 12: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.”
The NRA? GOA? SAF? Faceless, and not likely to quit. But conflate them with someone with a large mouth who comes across as a loon because he’s never met a conspiracy theory he didn’t like and you can sway a lot of the middle, and even casual NRA members who don’t want to be associated with someone like Alex Jones.
Meh, the youtube of the CNN show probably had more viewers than CNN itself. The only people that watch that channel are travellers trapped in airports.
What a surprise, CNN builds on the preferred narrative and actively works to vilify the opposition. This is propaganda, not new or even commentary.
Want to make the opposition look bad, find someone who supports their position but who is a terrible spokesman. (and no matter how disciplined the majority of our side tries to be you can always find some nutcase who will go on TV for a moment of fame.) Then drive it hard that this is exactly what the opposition stands for. Take the opposition’s lobby and make it a monster that represents death merchants. Misrepresent their points at every turn.
CNN has been continuing with the commentary calling for “reasonable” gun control and that gun rights supporters need to come to the middle or moderate stance. Since they have intentionally made the gun rights crowd look like a bunch of loons, there’s no great surprise that they then make that call. Its very difficult not to see this whole thing as propaganda and intentional.
The NRA still hasn’t managed to closet LaPierre. He’s not quite as bad as Jones in delivery, but he definitely didn’t do the NRA any good with his press conference. Until they understand that they require a spokesman that is disciplined and always comes across as reasonable they are going to look loony.

Because he is what the liberals WANT us to be. And we all know that liberals only identify what they want to see.

they can’t find him on their weekly list of approved journalists, so he obviously represents everything evil and wrong in the world.

So…. Alex Jones is a nut. He’s seen the FEMA camps and Charlie Sheen’s hemorrhoids, in person.
But a bit of what he was saying, while may not be happy sunshine, is what the founders had in mind if the fed got to what it is now.
Busted clock is right twice a day.

We got set up. He picked a lunatic, set him up as our mouthpiece, and ran with it.

Alex Jones was stopped by TSA on the way to the interview. He thought the Obama machine was trying to keep him from spreading truth.
Turns out it was a couple of pro-gun TSA agents trying to keep him from making gun owners look as nutty as Jones.
Why does Drudge link to this guy so often?

Drudge needs money. Jones brings in the batshit crazies.
