Unpossible!
There’s this place that has all the gun control pipe dreams that the Obama administration is pushing. It bans the most popular rifle in the country, magazines that hold more than some arbitrary number of rounds, and rarely issues permits. And the list goes on. It’s called California and it ranks number one on the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Ownership’s scorecards. Oddly, there was a school shooting there today. That can’t happen since they have all that gun control.

Well, limit their gun access and all the crazies have that much more time to research fertilizer bombs on the internet.

The fact that he used a shotgun will just be that much more reason to ban those evil assault weapons.

Uh…Brigid? You don’t think that wont be the eventual excuse to limit the interwebz? If the Government can save one life by restricting America’s access to the internet, then it’s worth it. Restricting media access to approved sources would be a beneficial side effect, but the Government will assure us that all it wants to do is save at least one life.
Ugh…I’ve been contacting to many reps and looking on too many forums. I’m starting to sound like I’ve got a foil hat.

This was not a school shooting.
This wa a shooting that happened to occur at school. Look. Sone asshole who is feeling picked on(who of us hasn’t been?) decides that his only option for retaliation is to shoot up a school? seriously?
This is a school shooting? This is some dumbass who hasn’t been taught that it is OK to call his oppressor an asshole. Someone who was not taught to fight back. this is just some prick who has been led to believe that his mere presence on this planet is a gift to mankind (by the public school indoctrination system) who when he found out otherwise, could not accept the blow to his self-esteem, who decided that rather than stand up for himself with words or directed action that it was his right to show up with a firearm and to stsrt shooting at anyone who got in his way. Kid is an asshole nothing more, nothing less.

Obviously, it’s because we haven’t banned enough here. Who needs shotguns anyway?

Note that although he was seen walking to the school with the shotgun, and police were called…they still couldn’t get there in time to stop him.

Did no one think to call the school to start the lock down before he got there?

At least he was not shooting randomly. He had two targets. Not that he is an altar boy and deserves deification. But as a previous commentor said, this is NOT a school shooting. This is just a shooting that happened at school. He went there to gun down two individuals. Shot one. The other was unavailable. The teacher talked him down. God bless the teacher.

The accused gunman was arrested at Taft Union High School in inland Kern County following the shooting and investigators later said he felt he was being bullied by one or two students in the class, including the boy who was shot and seriously wounded.
I guess we need to make allegedly-bullying a Felony to stop this madness.
And, yes, obviously this proves that a pump-action shotgun is a Tool Of Murder rather than a standard hunting or defensive tool.
(I assume it’s a pump because they’re the most common and there was no hyperventilation about an “automatic assault shotgun”.)

Sid, I agree that it was a targeted hit on two people who happened to be at school. But school is one of the best places to do that, since it’s a desiganted gun-free zone and it’s not likely your intended target or targets would be armed. If you went to their residences, they may be armed. They were unarmed since the powers that be made it that way for the criminal assailant, just as they do and have done for the mass-murderers.

Gun control laws are designed to fail. You knew that, right? Bail-outs and QEs are of the same strategy. I mean, you must know how the game is played.
That is to say; they are designed to fail their stated purposes. In truth, they succeed in what they are designed to do, which is make things worse.

Lyle,
It’s brilliant. Then when things get worse, they have the pretext to do more of what they did.
