But I thought we had to limit magazine capacity and ban black rifles for safety?
So wouldn’t this make us less safe? Tenn. police allowed to carry personal AR-15 rifles

I have a lot of law enforcement customers and many use their bison rifles on patrol. They just have to qualify with them first.

The hesitation from the training cadre at Metro was the use of some officers personal Frankenguns. It was decide if it would pass armorers inspection and hold up during the training classes it was good to go.

Cheap Bastards! Have the Dept. pay for the Guns, Damn it!
What do you think Taxes are supposed to be used for?

Our Dept has converted A1s…I would much rather have someone carrying a personal rifle that they invested 3k in than an old A1 with battlefield zero glued.

These are privately owned AR-15’s which are the very ones that the demagoging fascists want to ban.

since they are personally owned and would be subject to the AWB, if one ever passed, Lawmen with personally owned ARs have “skin in the game” so to speak and would have as much to loose as everyone else. A good thing I believe.

I used my AR SBR when I was a cop. Of course I was required to qualify with it to satisfy departmental requirements. The only problem I had at the time was outshooting the Chief.
That said, I would encourage every department to allow this. Not because I believe it will arm an already overzealous potential for a police state, but because it will invest police officers into our struggle against the anti-rights cultists. Once they realize their safety will be as threatened as “us normal-everyday-citizens” they might change the political tune they’re singing. For too many years, I have seen the left poison law enforcement, from the local level up, against gun owners, constitutional rights, legal carry (all the same thing to me). Too many years have I heard police officers say, in an official capacity, that police should be the only ones with guns. If more departments allow personal weapons, more police officers may begin to understand that their rights can be infringed upon as easily as the rest of the country. They may come to understand that the “only better” concept really doesn’t apply to them either.
By all means, keep trying to pass those unconstitutional laws Mr. O. You are doing so much to boost gun sales, and now you are winning the hearts and minds of our military and law enforcement! Who will you have to support you once they are on our side completely? I don’t think a doctor is going to be able to hack it.
Just my personal, and sometimes temporary perspective,

You are assuming the law would be equally applied to law enforcement too. Even if it is supposed to be it is rarely the case. I can hear it now, we can’t take their AR’s, what if they need them at work?
