The AP stylebook even distinguishes between an assault rifle and a non-synonymous “assault weapon”.
The info is there. The journalists either don’t care or are omitting it because it doesn’t fit the narrative.

When mags over 10 rounds are baned are all the pistols with staggered mags that hold more than 10 rounds also baned, this is there secret plan to ban handguns with more than round mmags What are all the people who have bought mags that hold more than 10 rounds to do trash them, will there be a buy back, or will they come to taken them from you..???????
