Rules are ONLY for the ‘little people’…

Old NFO is correct in more ways than he meant. There are specific and exquisitely clear rules against federal employees using government computers for non-job activities. Read literally, the rules state that using the computer for anything not directly job related is an absolute no-recourse firing offense.
This was explained to me upon my first encounter with it as the way poor performing secretaries were fired, despite union protection. As anyone with a computer and an internet connection has violated the rule if they so much as do a google search that brings up non-work related hits, anyone can be fired under this rule with very little recourse, and the firing is immediate.
Rules are only for the little people, and they are used good and hard on them.
